it's a cost, it's a hassle:
Buying bottled water is not a mere convenience as in developed countries but it is a necessity when the water supply runs out.

Mdm. Thanh Thuy is in her mid-40s. Her son, Linh, 14, has been admitted to the NHP for a bone condition that requires surgery on his chest.

Having been referred to the NHP only weeks before, she shares with us her experiences in the provincial hospital as compared to that of the NHP.

“I come from Central Vietnam to the NHP, my husband works as an odd-job labourer while I work as a technician. Linh was initially treated at a local hospital near our province and we were referred to NHP as the doctors felt that Linh would be able to get better care here.

I recall, back at our local hospital, it was a daily hassle for the family as we were not able to use the water freely.

We had to constantly buy bottled water for ourselves and for Linh, once the allocated supply of daily water would run out.

Even so, at the back of my mind, I had always questioned the quality and cleanliness of the water supplied there.

Hence, it is with much joy that I am able to make use of the water supplied at the NHP, which is not only free and in constant supply but also certified safe to drink.

It is really convenient for us as I no longer need to spend time and money in going out to buy bottled water everyday.”
